A special treatment based on the highest division algebra, that of octonions and their split algebraic formulation is developed for the description of diquark states made up of two quark pairs. We describe symmetry properties of mesons and baryons through such formulation and derive mass formulae relating π, ρ, N and Δ trajectories showing an incredible agreement with experiments. Using 55.8 pb(-1) of e(+)e(-) collisions recorded at the psi(3770) resonance with the CLEO-c detector at CESR, we determine absolute hadronic branching fractions of charged and neutral D mesons using a double tag technique. Among measurements for three D-0 and six D+ modes, we obtain reference branching fractions B(D-0- K(-)pi(+))=(3.91 +/- 0.08 +/- 0.09)% and B(D+- K(-)pi(+)pi(+))=(9.5.
